Maybe its a reaction to the pressure you're putting him under. People often develop escapism in different ways to outside stress. Maybe by crossdressing he stops thinking of himself as Jouji for a while.

My brother wouldn't cross dress and he doesn't have DID!

I'm not saying he has DID! I'm saying its a form of escapism. You know. Like Noriko's temporary hypnotism stints. Only less supernatural.
